On Sunday with my parents we went to visit the house of "Tante Léonie". Marcel Proust spent his holidays there as a child and it has inspired him for the 1st part of his novel "Combray". There is a guided tour which actually helps - for anybody knowing a bit of Proust's works - to figure out how close or not is the fiction from the reality. We had lunch at "Hostellerie de Guibert" near Bonneval. A very nice former "maison de Maître" and the food is quite good too. We then went back to Orléans through pretty villages.
On Monday I headed for Chaumont s/ Loire to see the 20th Garden Festival on the grounds of the castle. The theme this year was "gardens of the future and biodiversity". (see: http://www.domaine-chaumont.fr/index-en.php?page=festival-2011&scat=5a&cat=5&expandable=2). It took most of my day. I had a cup of tea in Cheverny on the way back.
