The Temple of Food

As one of my reader says I just follow my nose and today I came across : http://www.balduccis.com/. On 8th Av. @ 14th St. It used to be a bank and the building itself is quite impressive. They have everything including a very nice cheeses counter. It is worth at least to have a look at as it is quite expensive.

That place is impressive, but too overpriced.

If you haven't been to the Chelsea Market (www.chelseamarket.com), you MUST go there. It is in an old factory, and it is a true destination. The variety of food is great and unusual. It's where all the culinary artists go to buy their food and wares.

Another unusual market is under the 59th Street bridge: www.thefoodemporium.com/finefood/interactive_map.asp. It is a fascinating space -- sort of like a food museum -- and worth the trip to the neighborhood.
